We had two special guests at our December 13th Quarterly Meeting hosted by Mickleton Monthly MeetingChristie Duncan Tessmer, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (PYMGeneral Secretary and Penny Colgan-Davis, PYM Rising Clerk. They led workshops, gave speeches and joined us in discussion and worship.

Christie Duncan Tessmer started the day with an inter-generational activity centered on the story of Zacchaeus the tax collector. Using wood blocks, Christie retold this Biblical narrative and then invited participants to construct houses that would be inviting to all people. This activity delighted both children and adults.

After worship, Penny Colgan-Davis led the adults in a workshop that taught the importance of increasing communication and knowledge-sharing between meetings. Penny then gave a stirring speech about how Quaker social action can be made more effective through better communication.

Children spent much of the day climbing trees and making cinnamon ornaments and paper snowflakes.
