On March 13th, Salem Quarterly Meeting gathered at Woodstown Monthly Meeting. The morning began with light refreshments and fellowship. Afterward, Friends heard from a panel of Quaker veterans on the subjects of war, service and peace. The panelists brought diverse perspectives and told stories from their time in the military. They later fielded questions from Friends. The inspiration for this panel was curiosity around the abundance of American flags placed in Woodstown’s cemetery. After the panel, Friends gathered for worship. Children were treated to games, crafts and an educational program. Lunch was a rich assortment of delicious homemade soups and breads. The day concluded with meeting for business.
