1999These are only some of the things that will happen in Salem Quarter and Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. The dates and details for others arent set yet. Look for the Quarterly Meeting Calendar, sent every month to Salem Quarter Steering Committee members, for listings of other events you may be interested in. Deadline for your meetings announcements in the next Salem Quarter News is Tuesday, 27 July.
Sat, 5 June- Woodstown Strawberry Supper. Seatings will be at 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00 for the Woodstown MM annual Strawberry Supper. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, takeout available.
Sun, 6 June- Woodbury Music and Arts Festival. Woodbury MM hosts the festival as part of the Woodbury Block Party, 12:00 noon till 6:00 PM.
Fri, 11 June- Salem Quarter Worship and Ministry. All members of monthly meeting Worship and Ministry Committees are welcome at the home of Jack and Peggy Warner.
Sat, 12 June- Salem Quarter Teen Sleepover. Mickleton MM and the Little Red School House host a community-building sleepover for the Quarter's teens. Current fifth graders are invited, and all are encouraged to bring their friends. Cost is $5, to a maximum of $15 per family.
Sun, 13 June- Salem Quarterly Meeting. Salem Quarter will meet at Mickleton MM, corner of Kings Highway and Democrat Road in Mickleton. Gathering at 9:30 AM, worship at 10:00, Cookie Caldwell of PYM's Young Friends program speaking at 11:00, lunch at noon, and business meeting starting at 1:00 PM. Child care provided.
Sat, 10 July- Intergenerational Sleepover. All ages are welcome at an intergenerational sleep-over at the home of George and Cindy Cox Crispin in Harrisonville. Bring your own tents and food to share for dinner. The weekend will include horseback riding, nature trail, petting zoo, swimming, and a bonfire.
Tue, 20 July - Sun, 25 July- Residential Yearly Meeting. Philadelphia Yearly Meeting meets in annual sessions at St. Francis de Sales College, Allentown, Pa. Highlights are presentations of the work of the new Standing Committees during their first year of operation, and worship sharing around issues of faith language. Sat, 31 July- Woodstown Excursion. Woodstown MM will take a trip to see the Wilmington Blue Rocks play baseball. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased before the end of June. Carpooling can be arranged, and probably will depart from Woodstown at 6:00 PM.
Sun, 15 August- Mickleton MM 200th Anniversary. Mickleton celebrates the bicentennial of its meeting-house with a day of activities starting with worship at 10:00 AM.
Fri, 20 August - Sun, 22 August- Salem Quarter Retreat. For the third year, Salem Quarter will hold its retreat at the Burlington Meeting House. Watch for fliers and registration forms, or call the Coordinator at (856)769-0066.
