These are only some of the things that will happen in Salem Quarter and Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. The dates and details for others arent set yet. Look for the Quarterly Meeting Calendar, sent every month to Salem Quarter Steering Committee members, for listings of other events you may be interested in.
Fri, 20 August - Sun, 22 August- Salem Quarter Retreat. Salem Quarter's third annual Retreat will be held at the Burlington Meeting House, with a focus on spirituality and fun. Watch for registration forms in the mail, or call the Coordinator at (856)769-0066.
Fri, 10 September- Salem Quarter Worship & Ministry. All members of Quarter monthly meeting Worship & Ministry Committees are welcome at the home of Mary Waddington, clerk.
Sat-Sun, 11-12 September- Salem Quarter Teen Sleepover. Greenwich MM will host a teen sleepover in conjunction with Quarterly Meeting. Registration deadline is Wednesday, 8 September, and there will be a small fee to cover expenses. For information or registration, contact Sondra Ball at sondra@jnlk.com.
Sun, 12 September- Salem Quarterly Meeting. Elizabeth Marsh, clerk of PYM's Peace and Concerns Standing Committee, will speak on leadings as they relate to Friends' testimonies and Yearly Meeting at Greenwich MM Lower Meeting House. During the adult program, the Youth Committee presents a special kids' program on monarch butterflies, run by Salem MM artist Dana Gaynor.
Business meeting at 3:00 PM, brown-bag dinner (beverage and dessert provided) at 5:00, program at 6:30, and candlelight worship at 7:30 PM. Child care provided.
Fri-Sun, 17-19 September- Tri-Quarterly Gathering. Theme for 1999's Tri-Quarterly Gathering is "How Are We Led, Friends?" Watch for coming announcement and registration forms for this year's gathering at Camp Ockanickon, Medford Lakes, N.J. Program and registration information will be available from the Salem Quarter Coordinator at (856)769-0066.

Sun, 19 September- Salem MM Musical Event. Salem MM hosts a jam session in the social hall starting at 6:30 PM.
Thurs, 23 September- Summit III Diversity. The third in a series of "empowerment summits" will focus on housing, health, civic involvement, and arts and culture. It will be held at the new Atlantic City Convention Center. For further information, call toll-free 1(877)6-SUMMIT.
Sat, 25 September- Seaville Retreat. Seaville MM holds a retreat at the meetinghouse, featuring an examination of leadings with Phil Anthony and yoga with a local teacher. For information, call the meeting at (609)624-1165.
Sat, 2 October- Quaker College Fair. The first Quaker College Fair will be held at Friends Select School, Philadelphia. The aim is to make young Friends (and their parents) more aware of Quaker colleges. Information on the colleges will be available, along with tips for Friends seeking financial aid. Sun, 3 October- Mickleton Meetinghouse Bicentennial. Mickleton MM celebrates the 200th anniversary of its meetinghouse starting with 10:00 AM worship. There will be a luncheon, petting zoo, horseback rides, face painting, and more. For further information, call the meetinghouse, (856)845-7682.
Sat, 16 October- Salem Quarter Prayer Retreat. Sondra Ball will lead a prayer retreat from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, tentatively scheduled for Mickleton MM. For further information, call the Coordinator, (856)769-0066.
Sun, 7 November- Salem Quarter Outreach. The Quarter Outreach Committee will meet at Woodbury MM at 1:00 PM after a summer break. All are welcome.
Sat, 13 November- Intergenerational work day. The Quarter will gather about 10:00 AM to clean up the cemetery near Hancock's Bridge, including removing saplings and underbrush. The Youth Committee will provide sandwiches and a continuous supply of hot cider.
Sat, 4 December- Friends Home intergenerational visit. The Quarter will provide snacks and games for a visit with residents of Friends Home at Woodstown. Further information as the date comes closer.
