1999 Its not too soon to mark your calendar for the Salem Quarter Retreat, FriSun, 1113 August 2000, at the Burlington Meeting House. Chel Avery will facilitate our examination of Conflict: Opportunity for Spiritual Growth. Watch for details early next year!
These are only some of the things that will happen in Salem Quarter and Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. The dates and details for others arent set yet. Look for the Quarterly Meeting Calendar, sent every month to Salem Quarter Steering Committee members, for listings of other events you may be interested in.
Tue, 30 November- Ad Hoc Committee. The Quarter Ad Hoc Committee with a concern for refugees will meet at Woodstown MM. The group will chip in on a pizza order, with pizza at 6:00 pm and the meeting starting about 7:00. To get in on the pizza, please call the Coordinator at (856)769-0066.
Fri, 3 December- Woodbury MM Monthly Program. The first in Woodburys monthly Friday evening program series for the winter will consider Nurturing Our Spirit. The group will gather at 6:00 PM, with potluck dinner at 6:30 and program at 7:30.
Fri-Sun, 3-5 December- Ten Thousand Villages at Woodstown MM. Woodstowns Peace & Social Justice Committee hosts the Ten Thousand Villages craft sale in conjunction with the Friday evening Woodstown by Candlelight tour.
Sat, 4 December- Friends Home intergenerational visit. The Quarter will provide snacks and games for a visit with residents of Friends Home at Woodstown. Further information as the date comes closer.
Fri, 10 December- Salem Quarter Worship & Ministry. This meeting will gather at the home of Gloria Horvay. All members of Quarter monthly meeting Worship & Ministry or Worship & Counsel committees are automatically members of the Quarter committee.
Sun, 12 December- Salem Quarterly Meeting. Carla White, Co-Clerk, Right Sharing of World Resources, will speak.
Business meeting at 3:00 PM, Stone Soup dinner (soup, bread, beverage) provided by Woodbury MM and prepared by Right Sharing of World Resources at 5:00, program at 6:30, Friends School musical program at 7:30, and candlelight worship at 8:00 PM. Child care provided.
Fri, 31 December- One Day in Peace at Woodbury MM. Woodbury MM will hold a 7:00 AM called meeting for worship as part of One Day in Peace, a visualization of a world without war by people around the world the following day, 1 January 2000.
Sat-Sun, 1-2 January- Salem MM sleepover. Salem Monthly Meeting will hold an intergenerational sleepover at the meetinghouse Saturday evening through Sunday worship. The event features pizza making, creation of a calendar, games and dancing, and story-telling. For further information, contact Kitty Ford, the.momma@ivillage.com.
