WINTER
2000 Sandy Ridgway
Friends Home Board of ManagersHolidays are always special at Friends Home. This years holiday season began with the annual bazaar from 7:45 AM to 2:30 PM on November 10. Its a great time for friends, relatives, and community members to visit and shop for crafts, Christmas decorations, homemade goodies, and white elephant items.
There were two November concerts. On the 19th, Donna Gibson brought young Friends from Woodstown MM to the home for an instrumental concert. And professional musician Joyce Bouvier, pianist and vocal artist from the Washington, D.C., area, performed the music of Johnny Mercer. Joyce is the daughter of resident Isabel Bouvier and has performed here on several occasions.
Soon to come are the homes van ride around Woodstown in conjunction with the Woodstown by Candlelight house tour December 1. The Girl Scouts will host a tea on December 12, baking and serving cookies and providing entertainment for this very special, much anticipated event. Finally, a family Christmas party for residents of the health care unit will be held in the solarium. If you have a family member in the health care unit and would like to attend, call the home for more information at (856)769-1500.
Friends Home can always use more volunteers. Fulfill your ministry and volunteer here. We are looking for people to enrich the quality of life for our residents, and also bring joy to your own life. Many options are open for all age groups, including children and babies. Orientation and training will be provided. Call or e-mail us at (856)769-1500 or friends@vramp.net.
