Evaluation of the Coordinator
A committee to evaluate our coordinator, Phil Anthony, was formed at the August Steering Committee meeting. Committee members are Gloria Horvay, Sue Price-Redfern, Cindy Cox Crispin, and Diane Metz. The committee met in August to decide the format of the evaluation. It was decided to use the performance appraisal feedback form used by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. This questionnaire was distributed to all monthly meetings by way of the clerk, all members of Steering Committee, the heads of Friends School and Friends Home, and the other regional staff in southern New Jersey quarters. Twenty-three forms were returned, and all seven monthly meetings were represented. Phil completed a performance self-appraisal based on the PYM model. The committee met again to go over these completed evaluation forms. The committee identified strengths, suggestions for personal growth, and organizational changes as indicated on the completed evaluations.
Note: This committee will again evaluate Phil in the spring based on six months work in order to bring Salem Quarter into line with the rest of PYMs budget cycle. The FGC format for employee evaluation will most likely be used at that time.
The Steering Committee affirmed the evaluation at its 19 November meeting. It further recommends a pay increase of 1.75% upon Phils anniversary date in January.
Respectfully submitted,
Gloria Horvay, clerk[The proposed Quarter Goals were modified slightly by Quarterly Meeting in session. Please see the front cover of this issue of Salem Quarter News for the approved versionEd.]
