SUMMER 2004March 14, 2004
he Trustees met in January to discuss the business before them. At that meeting they reluctantly accepted the resignation of our long-time clerk, George Crispin. Friends spent time discussing the rationale for his decision and were supportive of it. Woody Gross, the assistant clerk, was asked to assume the duties and responsibilities of the clerk. He accepted the position and was further asked to write a minute of appreciation for Georges leadership as clerk. George Crispin reported that Lower Alloway Creek Meetinghouse was placed on the National Register of Histonc Buildings. The Trustees thanked Torrey Reade for her efforts leading to this honor.
Trustees discussed the need for Friends to consider the level of appreciation when thanking other Friends for time and energy both spiritually and physically given in service to the Quarterly Meeting. A Trustee will send a minute on this matter to the Quarterly Meeting.
Trustees discussed the appropriateness of designating a stone for benefactor Harold Powell on the memorial walk at the Lower Alloway Creek Meetinghouse. It was decided to research the criteria for memorializing a person on the walk.
We thank the Quarterly Meeting for its support of Trustees work in the care of the property under our stewardship.
For the Trustees,
Woody Gross, Clerk
