FALL 2007
art by Judy ScottI have taken many shapes met her in many different ways
When she was young I could be present in the shape
of pure joy and play
She was close to me still we did not have to
work so hard to find each other
I have and continue to enjoy the shape of a mother
She is quick and welcoming to our conversations
our deep living connections
The shape of a friend is also great fun
She loves a good story, a laugh and any chance
to be a little goofy and naughty
As a companion and a lover I live in the quiet
breath of communion with all the possibilities
of life
Ah but there were times it was not easy
Times when she was low down and only looking
at her own feet
I was there taking so many shapes
So many I was almost tired
I put on my Quaker hatthat got her attention
that made her look up
She remained guarded and close but since she was
looking at the sky
I came in the shape of a bird
and she started to open we even had fun
With time and care she now knows I am her companion
I am in her of her and all around her
