WINTER 2007Lois Dinshah
Mullica Hill MMThe first prayer partner I remember was also a bookkeeper at Travelogue in El Cajon, California, where I worked. She worked in the bookkeeping machine department. I worked in the area where we took the information from the motels and prepared them to be posted on the machines. Her name was Rosemary.
There was a pool at which motel managers were trained. There was a table near the pool where Rosemary and I would eat our lunch which we brought from home. We also met each other there at break times.
When we met we would pray together. First we would pray for ourselves and our families. We did ourselves first so that we had the extra blessings to send blessings on to others. Then we would pray for those near, such as those where we worked and the communities in which we lived. Then we would pray for those in the state, and those in government in the state. We went on to pray for the whole United States, and the government. From there we prayed for other countries and their governments.
We did this during each break, or at least every day.
We came up with, what I call some spiritual games. We would bless each item we looked at while shopping, so that whoever also looked at it and whoever bought it would get a blessing.
Of course, we sent blessings to ambulances and accidents.
We would hold our hands out with fingers pointing outwards so that people along the side of the street would get blessings.
We would send blessings in any way that we could think of.
This is my first and most memorable prayer partnership. We didn't think of it as a prayer partner, but in effect that is what it was.
