The grounds at Lower Alloways Creek Meeting have been mowed 34 times already this year. The north wall of the Meetinghouse seems to have remained dry since the wall was repointed. Pete Lessig (a roof and leak specialist) will inspect the property for input on the status of water problems at the Meetinghouse.
Visitations to the LAC Meetinghouse have increased. Photos are available for some of the activities. The Meetinghouse was open in conjunction with a Hancocks Bridge Day tour. Friendly reminders will need to be sent to those using the property. People wishing to use LAC Meetinghouse for gatherings and the like are reminded to contact George Crispin prior to the event. Letters will be sent to all persons having a key to the Meetinghouse. A sign should be posted in Meetinghouse also. Question of the donation box and key needs to be looked into. Any money in the box should be deposited for the care of the property. A register book should be placed in the Meetinghouse if one is not already in place.
Mullica Hill Meeting Childrens First Day School has adopted the Maurice River Cemetery. They are planning to hold an annual clean-up day. The first clean-up was held on April 28, 2001. A report from the children is attached. Fifty-five dollars was raised by the children and donated to the Quarter for repairs to the cemetery wall and gate. Bob Redfern has volunteered to mow Maurice River Cemetery and research the burial ground plot plan.
