Sat, 25 May - Mon, 27 May- Womens Gathering called meeting. The Burlington Meeting House will be the site of a called Memorial Day weekend meeting under the care of the PYM Womens Gathering to vigil for peace and discern womens role in the Friends peace witness. The meeting will start 9:00 am Saturday and close 4:00 pm Monday; women are encouraged to attend for whatever length of time they may be able to. Child care will be provided. Sat, 1 Jun- Woodstown Strawberry Festival. Tickets for Woodstown MMs annual event, with seatings at 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00, are $12. For more information, call Casey Palmer, (856) 769-3080.
Thu, 6 Jun- Salem MM Friends Tea. The annual Friends Tea will be held on the Salem MM lawn, under the buttonwood tree, at 6:00 pm.
Fri, 7 Jun- Salem Quarter Worship & Ministry. The Worship & Ministry Committee will meet at the home of Bob and Gloria Horvay, Mullica Hill, at 7:30 PM. For information, contact the Salem Quarter Coordinator at (856) 769-0066.
Fri, 8 Jun- Friends Home Ice Cream Social. Friends Home presents the second annual Ice Cream Social from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Tickets $5 each, or $15 per family. Further information from Mary Ellen Brooks, (856) 823-0229.
Sun, 9 Jun- Salem Quarterly Meeting. Salem Quarter gathers at Seaville MM at 9:30 am. Starting at 10:00, Sam Chamberlain and Melissa Whaley offer their experience of the War on Drugs and its effect on drug abusers, their families, and society. Sat, 29 Jun- Woodstown baseball outing. Woodstown MM holds its annual outing to a Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball game. Tickets are $6, and the meeting must know how many people are coming by the end of May. Further information and tickets from Jack Mahon, (856) 358-3528.
Fri-Sun, 23-25 August- Salem Quarter Retreat. This years Salem Quarter Retreat at the Burlington Meeting House will be facilitated by Michael Wajda, Salem Quarters first Coordinator, and Alison Levie. Fri, 6 Sep- Salem Quarter Worship & Ministry. Salem Quarterly Meetings Worship & Ministry Committee will meet at the home of Gloria and Bob Horvay, Mullica Hill, at 7:30 pm. All members of monthly meeting Worship & Ministry (or Worship & Counsel) Committees, and others with a concern for the Quarters spiritual life, are welcome. Sat, 7 Sep- Ministry, Eldering & Worship. The Gathering for Ministry, Eldering & Worship will meet at Mullica Hill MM, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. This gathering of Friends from all around Yearly Meeting is aimed at everyone with a concern for depth of worship and support of ministries in our meetings. No charge; contribution accepted. Sun, 8 Sep- Salem Quarterly Meeting. Salem Quarters Worship & Ministry Committee presents the program, which will look at our meetings response to 9/11/2001what we did well, what we could have done better, what remains to be done. The Quarter will gather at Greenwich MMs Orthodox meetinghouse at 2:30 pm for business starting at 3:00. Full information and schedule will be in the Fall Salem Quarter News.
Sat, 21 Sep- Clerking and Being Clerked. Clerking is the spiritual work of the entire meeting. Salem Quarters Steering Committee presents a full-day clerking workshop on the subject with former PYM Clerk Arthur Larrabee at Mickleton MM. Cost is $30; there is a maximum of 35 participants, and child care will not be provided. See the article in this issue for full information.
Fri-Sun, 18-20 Oct- Tri-Quarterly Gathering. This years theme for Tri-Quarterly Gathering, held annually at Camp Ockanickon, Medford Lakes, N.J., is Reason for Hope. See the article in this issue, and look for fliers this summer with full details of workshops, schedule, and registration fees.
